Job Description

Operating a Sushi Restaurant in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA

We are proud to operate a sushi restaurant in the vibrant city of Honolulu on the island of Oahu. With a commitment to bringing Edo-style techniques to Oahu, our restaurant, Yohhei Sushi, is a long-standing establishment meticulously upheld by our chef, a Hiroshima native. The Head Chef, with extensive experience gained at a top-secret sushi spot in Hiroshima, has made Yohhei Sushi a local favorite for authentic sushi experiences.

In line with our plans for business expansion, we are now looking to hire additional sushi artisans who share our commitment to preserving tradition while embracing growth in the local community. As our clientele includes residents of Japanese descent, proficiency in English is not a strict requirement.

We invite individuals with confidence in their skills, especially those who have honed their expertise in the exceptional setting of Hawaii, to join us. We are seeking individuals who are not only skilled but also possess the determination to carry on the tradition.

Job Responsibilities:

Procurement and cost management
General cooking tasks, including preparation
Face-to-face customer interactions at the counter

Income

Annual Salary Range : 35,000 USD ～62,000 USD　*Depends on the experience

Holidays

【Working Hours】 Monday to Saturday: 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM (with a lunch break) *Occasionally, there may be shifts that involve only daytime or only evening work. 【Days Off】 1 or 2 days off per week

Requirements

Qualifications for Sushi Chef Position: Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a sushi chef. Guest Relations: Ability to engage with customers directly as a sushi artisan, preferably fluent in Japanese and English. Counter Service Experience: Previous experience working at a sushi counter is highly valued. Cooking License: Must have a valid cooking license (required for visa application). Passion over Expertise: We value passion over technical expertise, seeking individuals who are enthusiastic about their craft.
