Job Description

Japanese brewery with a long-established history of over 180 years has now taken on new co-owners within China, resulting in the opening of a top-class Japanese restaurant where people can enjoy traditional Japanese sake and cuisine in Guangzhou City of the Guangdong Province in China!

The restaurant’s interior is currently receiving its finishing touches, and we will be prepared to open in the Fall of 2018♪♪

We are looking to hire a [Head Chef]!

Our restaurant, located in a skyscraper in Guangzhou, can seat between 100~120 guests.
The kitchen team consists of our Japanese head chef, and then our local staff of 15~20 members.

The Head Chef’s responsibilities will include: supervision of cooking/serving, restaurant operations, education and training of other staff, menu planning and development, assistance with opening new location.

Requirements & Notes

Hiring Process:
1.) Resume screening
2.) Interview with the Japanese owner
3.) One week test period at restaurant in Guangzhou
※ Travel and housing all covered by company; work during test period will be compensated

※ We will also consider candidates living outside of Japan.

<Experience> Candidate with solid experience as a sushi chef and in other Japanese cuisine Experience preparing Kaiseki course meals 10 years of general cooking experience Experience cooking at high-end restaurant desired (price per customer 15,000 JPY or more) <Language> Japanese: Native Level English: Daily Conversational Level Chinese: Not Required *Candidates of Chinese nationality also welcome!
