Job Description

This Sushi restaurant opened in 2015,
and is currently hiring a sous chef can be entrusted the restaurant and be a head chef within one year!

This position is strongly recommended to chefs who don't want to stop improving in Japan, looking for skill and career advancement while studying and feeling oversea Japanese cuisine culture.

The restaurant is also particular about its ingredients, and receives imports from Toyosu four times a week.
It offers an authentic menu with Japanese ingredients even in Singapore!

Cost per customer: 15,000JPY (dinner, cuisine only)
Customers: 60-70% local (Singapore, Malaysia) and guests from other Asian countries

The veteran head chef has worked abroad and has over 20 years of experience in Washoku.
The staff consists of both local and foreign team members.

Specific Job Duties：
・Ordering/Preparation of ingredients
・Management
・Staff Training
・Making sushi and interacting with customers at the counter
and all restaurant operations to rouse the restaurant.

We are now looking for people who is full of passion to become a head chef in the future!

◇About Tax:
Consider your tax to be roughly 6-8% of your annual salary. You will be informed how to properly file/pay taxes.
But of course, filing taxes will be your individual responsibility, and is required when going abroad, much like insurance.

◇Relocating with Family:
For a family of 3-4, it will be hard to find somewhere to live that costs less than 2500SGD per month in rent.
Aside from transportation, other living expenses are high, particularly education.
Kindergarten costs upwards of 1200SGD per month, with elementary school costing upwards of 2000SGD per month.

Many people will relocate to Singapore alone and work to hone their skills
and attain a higher-paying job before relocating their family along with them.

・Closed Mondays ・Daily Working Hours：10:30-23:00　（15:00-17:00　break） ・Public Holidays：11 days (abides by Singapore law) ・Paid Time Off: 7 days/1st year, 8 days/2nd year; 9 days/3rd year 10 days/4th year+

Requirements

【Experience・Skills】 ・3 or more years experience working at a sushi counter in Japan ・Cooking license ・Japanese: native level ・English: conversational level desired ※Even if you do not speak English, we are looking for someone who will positively try to use it and interact with customers 【Desired Traits】 ・Desires to challenge self abroad ・Seeks to use and improve English ・Has a sense of responsibility; seeks to work long-term ・Enjoys cooking next to and interacting with customers ・Great communication skills with staff
