★About the Restaurant
Our company operates one of Manhattan's oldest and most authentic Japanese restaurants. Since our founding in 1963, we have maintained traditional Japanese flavors for 61 years, pioneering the Japanese cuisine movement in New York.

We are currently seeking an experienced Sous Chef to assist the Head Chef. This role requires supporting the Head Chef, developing menus, training kitchen staff, and managing kitchen operations. Based on performance, promotion to Head Chef is possible within a few years.

[Responsibilities]
- Quality Control: Ensure the quality of dishes in terms of taste, presentation, and timely service.
- Menu Development: Create seasonal and trend-inspired dishes, continuously updating the menu.
- Kitchen Operations: Oversee staff to ensure accurate preparation, and provide training as needed.
- Sanitation Management: Maintain kitchen hygiene and equipment.
- Inventory Management: Handle ingredient purchasing and inventory to manage kitchen costs effectively.
- Staff Management: Recruit, train, and schedule kitchen staff to foster teamwork.

Holidays

[Working Hours] 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM / 5:00 PM - 9:30 PM → Shifts may vary depending on preparation needs; typical working hours are 40-50 per week. [Days Off] - Two days off per week - Closed on public holidays; open for dinner only on minor holidays. [Paid Leave] - 10 days in the first year, 15 days after 2-5 years, 20 days after 6 years.

Requirements

★Qualifications - Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a Japanese restaurant; at least 2 years in a management role. - Language: Business-level English proficiency. - Mindset: Self-driven, proactive, and enthusiastic about tackling tasks independently. ※Visa application requirements include management experience and sufficient English proficiency to complete an interview at the U.S. Embassy.
