Job Description

A Japanese restaurant boasting high popularity and trust from both domestic and international patrons invites skilled Sushi Chefs to shine in a Michelin one-star setting. The restaurant, offering the finest Japanese cuisine in Europe, accommodates 120 seats, including a sushi counter and private rooms. The establishment showcases authentic Japanese hospitality and features a beautiful Japanese garden. Female service staff don traditional kimonos.

The sushi counter, crafted from imported Japanese cypress, and meticulously selected tableware by the Japanese head chef contribute to the restaurant's authenticity. Recognized for its premium ingredients, flavors, and culinary and service expertise, the restaurant caters to a diverse clientele from across Europe, corporations, and American patrons, making it an exceptional stage for welcoming guests with Japanese cuisine.

【Responsibilities】
Provide sushi befitting a Michelin one-star restaurant
Customer-facing interaction at the sushi counter
Support other sections in the kitchen
Unloading ingredients
Ingredient and freshness management
Maintain sushi quality
Hygiene management in accordance with standards
Provide guidance and mentorship to Japanese cuisine staff
*Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, if the sushi counter is not operational, flexibility to work within the kitchen is required.

Income

Annual Salary Range : EUR 31,200~48,000

Holidays

Shift work with a 2-day weekend schedule (Monday to Friday: Dinner service, Saturday and Sunday: Lunch and Dinner service). 38 hours of actual work with the possibility of overtime. Typically, after the dinner service, there will be clean-up tasks, and returning home might be late at night. Operating days are subject to change based on the regulations imposed by the Dutch government due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 25 days of paid leave per year.

Requirements

Qualifications: Sushi Chef with 5 years of experience or more. Individuals with a sense of cleanliness, a strong professional mindset, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Sushi chef capable of customer-facing interactions, preferably in both Japanese and English. Holder of a cooking license (mandatory for applying for a work visa in the Netherlands). Individuals with experience working at a sushi counter. Those interested in providing \"Japanese hospitality\" to the world. Individuals with a self-reliant spirit and strong mental resilience necessary for living abroad.
